The "LIGHT" Positive side: (healthy well-being)

(5) WISE

The Wise person gathers detailed knowledge and determines when it's prudent to share in its truth.

(6) LOYAL

The Loyal person secures a sense of belonging and protectiveness through duty and commitment.

(6) SUSPICIOUS - wants guarantees

-> fears being despondent

-> deflects using intolerance


The Wise person in trying to escape their fear of being dispossessed and left with nothing, can falsely believe they already know all they need to know. Instead the Wise person needs to share important details and facts that will positively empower knowledge to others and so bring empowerment to themselves.

The Loyal person in trying to escape the worrying uncertainty of what lies ahead, can falsely believe they can always be depended upon. Instead the Loyal person needs to maintain a stress-free and balanced approach in life by focussing only on achieving that which gives the best outcomes.

The Joyful person in trying to escape from Life's pain by avoiding dwelling on anything negative, can falsely believe they are always joyous and that Life is great. Instead the Joyful person needs to learn more information in detail about the fun, enjoyable and worthwhile things in life that inspire and enthral.

The Enneagram teaches that to be better in well-being and self awareness then...

a (5) is to practice behaviours like an EIGHT
being a powerful sharer of wisdom for others

For an Enneagram 5 to become a better, 'healthier' 5, they must practice the ways of an 8, by not hiding their wisdom and knowledge, but instead being magnanimous, sharing in these things that are precious and of value. This will result in their wisdom becoming a potent power of good for all.

a (6) is to practice behaviours like a NINE
being more trusting and bringing balance

For an Enneagram 6 to become a better, 'healthier' 6, they must practice the ways of a 9, by quietly being composed in facing threats and remaining cool to counter-balance their doubts. This will lead to a greater inward sense of being secure and confident in the belief that all will be well in the end.

studiously gather more information

For an Enneagram 7 to become a better, 'healthier' 7, they must practice the ways of a 5, by taking a more soberly approach to life, rather than rushing to sample everything. This means slowing down and taking time to observe, study and savour all the details of each joyful opportunity.
